Earthship 2020 Mission: Build an off-grid eco-home in the high desert of Colorado while creating how-to videos and podcasts to show followers that tackling climate change by living sustainably can be done.
The crew

Jared and Laila are 29-year-old artists who first met in 2010 at New Mexico State University where they studied Art, Filmmaking, and Emergency Medicine. Their interest in Earthship building began out of a tumultuous period in their lives that left them as medical migrants in Denver, Colorado. Their mission is to build an Earthship and document the process from beginning to end as a way to educate listeners about how to live sustainably and combat climate change.
Jared Ortega is a Digital Media Specialist with 15 years experience working in film, TV, and live event productions and his work has been seen by audiences all around the world. Jared is a formerly licensed Emergency Medical Technician and hopes to get back to saving lives on an Ambulance when he's not podcasting about Earthships anymore.
"Building an Earthship may not be the end all be all solution to tackling climate change, but it's definitely a piece of the puzzle. I'm taking everything I learned and putting it into this off-grid Earthship to show the world that living sustainable is possible." - JO
